Background


Edward (Drew) Case is an Assistant Professor in Legal Studies. He is a proud graduate of Clayton State University (B.S. summa cum laude) and Emory University School of Law (Editor-in-Chief, Emory Corporate Governance and Accountability Review).

In law school, he was an extern at the Office of the Attorney General of Georgia where he assisted with representing the State with various habeas corpus petitions and appellate level work. Prior to joining the faculty Clayton State University, Professor Case was an assistant district attorney for the Coweta Judicial Circuit focusing in the area of crimes against women and children. During his time as an assistant district attorney, he tried numerous felony cases before a jury and obtained favorable results. Professor Case defended and obtained favorable results on appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Professor Case also served as a mentor and assisted with training new assistant district attorneys with trial preparations, identifying and evaluating evidentiary issues, and working a case to obtain a favorable and just result.
